We, the undersigned,…request that the Louisville Metro Police Department resume the search for Andrew Compton.
We believe that after searching for nine days in the landfill, and then stopping the search was premature. We believe that Andrew deserves to be found, and we request that the Louisville Metro Police Department appoint a team of law enforcement officers and/or trained volunteers to aide in the search to bring Andrew to justice.
Andrew Compton went missing on October 28th, 2010 and is alleged to have been killed by Gregory O’Bryan and Andrew’s body was allegedly stuffed into a TV box and dumped in this Indiana landfill. The cops searched for nine days, and were searching in the landfill based only on the confession of Gregory O’Bryan. In October it was hopeful that Andrew may be still alive, and Gregory was just lying. It was hoped his body would be found, and/or possibly Andrew would even still be alive.
In November 2010, many were awkwardly shocked when the Louisville Metro Police Department searched for Andrew’s body after nine days in the landfill, and then said they were calling off the search. The community was outraged when they seemed to just say that “Andrew was dead, and we caught the killer, so case closed...” and it appeared that they were not going to look for him anymore. It was like Andrew was just “this teenager who the Louisville Metro Police Department will allow to remain in the trash.”
In December 2010, Andrew was “declared dead” without a body, and the family had a memorial and a concert. As of today in 2011, Andrew's body has still not been found and the Louisville Metro Police Department are not proactively searching for him. We politely request that the Louisville Metro Police Department hear our plea, and proactively resume the search for Andrew Compton's body.
All of the finger pointing is still going to Gregory O’Bryan (who confessed to the murder, who was charged with the murder) but there is still no body.
E-sign the petition to RESUME THE SEARCH TO FIND ANDREW COMPTON, and let the Louisville Metro Police Department know that we want to bring Andrew home!

I believe that the search should continue until he is found. Why does this family not deserve to at least give him a proper burial? Why do they think he should be left for trash? I hope his family never gives up the search until he is found and laid to rest in peace.
Law enforcement should never give up on these case’s what so ever. We had a saying in the Marine Corps, never leave one behind, if you do”,, then we have already lost the war. Don’t forget nor leave behind the fallen folks. We have to look out for one another if we don’t who will? Let’s find Andrew Compton. Sincerely Bill & Mindy hersey
Andrew needs to be found, if we give up on this fight, our war against predators has been lost. We can make the difference this boys family is in need of, and I’m sure Andrew if he could say it , he would say Thanx for not giving up on me so I can be at rest.
Please resume the search. The parents need some closure.A child is lost. Whether dead or alive you need to find him.
Andrew Compton’s family deserve closure and a decent burial for their loved one.Find the remains of Andrew Compton and lay them to rest!
